Kings Lynn: last WQ meeting. Matt Newson took heat 2 then won a hard fought final with Steve Cayzer and Michael Scriven following him home. Hayley Parkinson had led the race brilliantly until the last 5 laps when she was forced wide and really deserved better than 9th. Chris Bonner took the whites and yellows race and Andy Smith won heat 2. Murray Harrison took the consolation after taking advantage of a mass pile up on turn 4 on the first lap and Paul Hines won a Grand National that was yellow flagged 3 times despite being pinned up against the fence by Steven Cayzer after one of the yellows.
Northampton:
Timmy Aldridge won the Harrington Rigby Trophy, Tom Harris took heat 1, tarmac expert Steve Hopkins heat 2 and Ryan Harrison on his home track won heat 3. World Champion Andy Smith won the meeting final from Ryan Harrison and Matt Newson with Michael Scriven taking the Grand National.
Ipswich:
Stoke driver Richard Masterson & Dean Whitwell took heats 1 & 2 with Chris Bonner taking heat 3 and the final from Luke Davidson and Andy Smith who made the long trip from Rochdale worthwhile with a Grand National victory.

The wonderful Sheffield track seen below is 50% covered, back straight access is for pit crew only, it has a 3 indoor bars and a restaurant. It regularly produces the best racing in the UK but suffers from lack of driver support due to nature of the wire and post fence. Pencilled in for a World Final within 5 years, plans are in the early stages for a fence revamp and to open the back straight to the public. And not before time.
