Queensland Stockcar club is the only contact racing club in Australia. The link between the UK and Australia is quite strong. ♪♫ There's only one club in Queensland ♪♪ After the recent split in the original Formula Brisbane Stockrod club, the old Brisbane Stockrods club has finally dissolved and the Queensland Stockcar club has emerged from the ashes as the only contact stockcar racing club in Australia at present. Estimates this year are that 20 cars will be registered to race, a 40% upturn on last year. The winner of the Australian title, this season held on 14th & 15th of January, will get an invite to race in the BriSCA Formula One stockcar World Final. It is hoped that a Pom will take part in this event and an invite has been offered already. It's been a very difficult 12 months for all involved but there is a stable base from which to build, a more solid constitution and the general feeling is that the club can move on from here and recruit more drivers and gain more interest from drivers of other formulae.
