During what turned out to be a 20 year Irish odyssey, three good friends passed away. May they Rest in Peace. Jim Golden of Castlecoote, Roscommon.
Andrew Leddy of Milltown, Cavan.
Sean Egan of Athlone, Westmeath.
This site is a memory of the wonderful times I had in Ireland, beginning with the first day when we arrived at Nonie Goldens "Lisheen" farmhouse in Castlecoote, and a bloke called Jack from Darnall, Sheffield had just that minute caught, what was at the time a record 35lb pike, from Athleague creamery stretch of the river Suck. This fish was beaten 3 years later by a 41lb specimen caught be a bloke who, at the time, was the landlord of the Shay pub at Halifax, Yorkshire. I was there then as well.
In time I will find more photos and list the places I fished in the Roscommon, and Cavan areas. Hopefully some of these places will still be popular with anglers, and if not, maybe they want revisiting.
